It would be nice to see the actual page that ties all those files togeather. I do php programming and all but I just dont see how to get it all to work.

The thott-items.php script will perform an HTTP fetch to read a page from Thottbot.com. It then parses that page source to find the item information table, and that table is saved in the database as HTML.

You then need a second bit of code to pull the “tooltip” back out of the database and display it on your page in some form or another.

Hey Adam,

I’ve been going through all the code here, but I still cannot figure out how you hit the Thott database and pull useful information out to throw it into the tooltip. I’ve been looking at the thott-items.php that you posted above, but I must be missing something.

Anyhow, I appreciate the work you’ve put into this and made public.

I’ve worked with Syzygy a bit to reference the above problem. This was a case of not using PHP5 and its updated DOM parser, I believe.

Hi Adam,

I tried to have the same setup as you and the others but the problem I’m running into is I got:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in http://…/includes/thott-item.php on line 52

This is what happen when I tried to do this:

ok ok. this is awesome! although i have no idea how to make it work. i checked the source from the provided links but i could not make sense out of the javascript files, what i need to include in my html pages, how to find those includes, etc. think that you might be able to help out someone as clueless as myself? where do i start to get this working on my site?
