Give up, you know that you secretly want everyone to send out XML emails, with each person having a different DTD either one the web, via ftp, or retrievable by some freaky email loopback service. Better yet, voice or video based email for the masses. Most people have the bandwidth, now they just need quality microphones and cameras.
